Competition Introduction (Level 2) Coaching Course sometime in 2025
We’ll be hosting a Competition Introduction (Level 2) coaching course on ____________ from 9am to 5pm both days. The course will be held at the______________. Beginners Instruction (Level 1) Coaching Course January 11-12th 2025
We’ll be hosting a Beginners Instruction (level 1) coaching course on January 11-12th in Lacombe from 9am to 5pm both days. The course will be held at the Shadowbox Boxing Club. The cost of the course is $150 and will be conducted by Rob Carswell. Payment will be required prior to the course. An e-transfer can be sent to albertaboxing@gmail.com. All participants must register as a coach to get credit for the course (registration form, criminal record and vulnerable sector check and $100 registration fee). To register for the course, log into the locker and click on “calendar” and then select January 11th and the course will pop up. Contact the office if you have any questions. 

Competing Internationally

If any athletes or coaches are planning to compete at an international boxing event, be sure to fill out an International Travel Permit. You can find this document in the documents section of our website. Once it is filled out, send it to the office and both Boxing Alberta and Boxing Canada will sign it. Without a completed permit, those wishing to travel and compete will not be permitted to do so. Contact the office you have any questions.

Competitive athletes – $120
Coaches and Officials – $100
Recreational athletes – $20
Club sanctions – $100
Tournament sanctions – $500
Pro-Am sanctions – $500
White Collar sanctions – $1,500

New Travel Incentive Program

Boxing Alberta is proud to announce our new Travel Incentive Program. Athletes who won Gold or Silver at our last provincials in March 2023 may qualify for funding for out of province fight experience. Please click here to learn about the program details.

Boxing Canada Announces Membership to World Boxing

Effective immediately, Boxing Canada will be terminating its membership with IBA to become a member of World Boxing. This decision has been carefully considered and aligns with our commitment to advancing the interests of boxing in Canada and on the international stage.

Coaching Certification Requirements
Come September 2023, coaches are required to be Beginners Instruction (level 1) certified to corner (the coach in the ring). Please see the letter pertaining to this.
