Instruction of Beginner Coaching Course
Location: Lacombe, AB
Date: January 11 &12th, 2025
Boxing Alberta is hosting a Beginners Instruction (level 1) coaching course on January 11-12th in Lacombe, AB. The course will be held at the Shadowbox Boxing Club, and will be conducted by Rob Carswell. Attending the two-day coaching course is one of the components for a coach to complete their certification process.
All registration for the course is through the Coaching Association of Canada. This is the national coaching body that tracks all of a coaches training courses and certifications. Having an account with the NCCP is mandatory for all coaches. Simply register for a free account at:
Once you have created an account with thelocker, simply click the ‘Calendar’ tab at the top and use the filters to find the boxing course:
Click on the course link and fill out the registration form. This will hold your spot in class until your payment is received. Payment for the course must be received at minimum one week in advance of the course. An e-transfer can be sent to albertaboxing@gmail.com (please include your name and ‘coaching course’ in the memo area of the e-transfer)

- Anyone 16 and older may register for the course, however, coaches must be 18 years old to complete their certification and be eligible to corner athletes
Attending the course is only one of the required components for someone to complete their full coaching certification. In addition, a coach will need to complete required NCCP courses (available through their NCCP account), request and pass an evaluation, submit a Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector search, and have a current Boxing Canada membership.
